A new movie will be screened in Lebanese Cinemas since November 20, Shehrazadeh’s Diaries,

a movie by Zeina Daccache director of Catharsis, the NGO that works in Lebanon to offer therapeutic help through theater and art.

Catharsis is the 1^st non-profit organization in Lebanon to promote & offer therapeutic actions through the use of theatre & art processes for individuals and groups.  It offers services & programs in various social, educational & therapeutic settings such as substance abuse treatment centers, mental health facilities, hospitals, correctional facilities, private practice settings for children & adults, schools and corporations.  Catharsis also works with individuals who want to explore various life problems & expand their quality of life.  Catharsis produced the play & documentary 12 Angry Lebanese with male inmates of Roumieh Prison (2009-2010);  Scheherazade in Baabda the play interpreted by Baabda prison women inmates(2012); the play From the Bottom of my Brain with the residents at Al Fanar psychiatric hospital(2013); the documentary Scheherazade’s Diary with the Baabda inmates (2013).

Choquant les listes electorales de 2014 au Liban Confessionnelles en premier lieu

J’ai entoure en rouge les confessions, mais ce decoupage electoral confessionnel est flagrant!!

Vous allez me dire, mais rita c’est normal nous vivons dans un pays confessionnel, ou la politique est histoire de confessions et de partage de pouvoir entre eux,

mais quand je suis entree sur le site du ministere de l’interieur pour checker qui sont les candidats et candidates,

la premiere chose qui saute a l’oeil est la confession:

514 candidats dont 35 femmes, bon tout ce que j’espere est que les elections aient lieu nous Avons OBLIGATOIREMENT besoin d’un “peu” d’Alternance.

Liban: des applications smartphone pour éviter les bombes

Les nouveaux gadgets en vogue au Liban? Des applications smartphone directement développées pour rester en vie dans un pays où les incidents sécuritaires se multiplient, depuis que son voisin syrien est secoué par l’une des guerres les plus meurtrières de la région.

Fusillades, enlèvements, explosions ou voitures piégées sont en constante augmentation dans le pays. Déjà éprouvé par une guerre civile dévastatrice jusqu’en 1990, le Liban, fief du Hezbollah, allié de Bachar al-Assad, redoute le spectre d’éventuelles frappes occidentales.

«Dans d’autres endroits du monde, la seule chose qui pourrait entraver votre chemin, ce sont les embouteillages. Au Liban, il y a plein d’autres obstacles» explique au Financial Times Mohammad Taha, entrepreneur qui a lancé l’année dernière l’appli Ma2too3a. Cette sorte de GPS cartographie en temps réel les manifestations, barrages routiers ou autres affrontements sur le principe du crowdsourcing: chaque témoin d’un événement transmet l’information. Selon Taha, Ma2too3a a déjà été téléchargée plus de 80.000 fois.

L’armée libanaise a lancé le 30 août dernier sa propre application intitulée LAF Shield (bouclier des forces armées libanaises) dans le but de mettre en place un «canal de communication directe avec les citoyens». Les utilisateurs sont invités à transmettre au plus vite toute information ayant trait à la sécurité dans le pays: site dangereux, objet suspect, localisation d’une victime de kidnapping, d’une cache d’arme, etc. Mais aussi d’entrer en contact au plus vite avec le commandement militaire en cas de danger.

Un entrepreneur, Firas Wazneh, est en train de son côté de développer l’appli Way to Safety (la voie de la sécurité), sorte de Shazam spécialisé dans… les coups de feu. L’appli pourra identifier le type d’arme utilisé en fonction de son bruit. Alors que les fusillades et attentats se multiplient au Liban, les utilisateurs auront le moyen d’éviter, tant que faire se peut, les points les plus chauds.

It’s a Man’s Lebanon.

a great article by gino , in which he puts all my thoughts into words!!

and here is a part of it “Fake boobs, fake lips, fake ass cheeks, fake heels, fake brands, fake eyelashes and nails. Women are expected to dress provocatively, with cleavage on the verge of bursting and heels more fitting for a corner hooker, you’d think these girls are getting some action. If they do though, they become “damaged material” to other guys and girls, “ruining the honor” of her family. Heck, even posing topless like Jackie Chamoun can get you in a ton of trouble. So, in a hyper-sexually suggestive society, being promiscuous if you’re female is still very much frowned upon.”

Am I The only one who disliked the movie “Ghadi” ?

 

I went with the Faith and Light Community to watch the movie Ghadi. The movie is a social comedy, which won many awards.

the pictures are nice, the colors, the comedy part describing the Lebanese customs and behavior in a village all those things are funny.

But What I disliked, Big time Disliked is how the movie is not related at All to Ghadi!!

Who is Ghadi? In the movie Ghadi is a child that has a mental handicap. The movie is entitled Ghadi, but for me, the child Doesn’t appear in the movie at all!!! Even on the billboards , the ads of the movie are not related to Ghadi, but picture the dad and the mum on a bicycle! why?

We didn’t meet Ghadi in this Movie!!!

we met he father Leba (Alias Georges Khabbaz) and his ideas and plot to make a story related to an “angel”.

Ghadi the handicapped boy, is pictured in this movie as an “angel” but even this we didn’t see!

he never mingled with the people of the “mshakkal” village he is supposed to live with!

the movie show us a small boy always sitting ALONE!! always sitting in his boxers and “flanella” ,

always alone! and just socializing with his father, mother and sisters!!

a Handicapped person can socialize, can communicate, sorry let me correct it, the only interaction I have noticed in this movie that is supposed to turn around a handicapped boy, was when he smiled and tried to make his neighbor Takla smile while mimicking his daddy.

a special case, can socialize, and can communicate, shouldn’t always be featured sitting on a balcony alone, just looking at people from behind bars,

again, I loved the visuals and the actors who played and showed us the Lebanese ways of living in a village,(sex worker, butcher, hairdresser….)  but and again, I disliked the message behind the story of the angel , and I was furious when I didn’t see ghady (the small boy that is a special case) having Any kind of communication, or any role, or any socialization in this movie!!

in Faith and Light we don’t see the special cases as special anymore, even the worse handicap is seen as “normal” and we try to make everybody participate in our activities. the aim of FL, for example is to help people to go out from the home circle, to let people KNOW, Mingle, and discuss with special cases!! discussion and communication, even listening are a way to know special cases better!!

I didn’t like how ghadi never get down from his home, stayed sitting on the window, always played alone,  never mingled with other fellows from the village, ghadi was pictured and stereotyped even more as a special case, as a different case,  and as an abnormal case!

Lebanese Women are Denied their Citizenship Rights …No Nationality for their Children and Husbands

As the Legal Agenda stipulates, the Lebanese Women are not Close to Transmit the basic and Fundamental right of Citizenship and Right to the Lebanese Nationality to their Children neither to their Husbands.

The Nationality Campaign in Lebanon, will go to the street and protest to amend the law, in a FAIR, EQUAL and Just Way.

Killing the Nationality Law… and Killing Women’s right in such a way is Totally Refused!

سادية جديدة باسم المصلحة العليا: “الدولة الذكورية” تدفن حق المرأة بمنح جنسيتها لأولادها نهائيا

“لا حق للمرأة اللبنانية بمنح جنسيتها لا لأولادها ولا لزوجها، فمن شأن ذلك الإضرار بالتوازن الطائفي الديموغرافي في البلاد، وبالمصلحة العليا للوطن”.. هذا هو فحوى القرار والتوصية التي رفعتها اللجنة الوزارية التي كلفها مجلس الوزراء دراسة القضية إثر طرح مشروع مرسوم حق اللبنانية بمنح جنسيتها لأولادها في 21 اذار الماضي، في ما روج له يومها على أنه “عيدية” الحكومة للمرأة اللبنانية في عيد الأم.

وجاءت “الهدية” المرّة والمحبطة للنساء في لبنان بعد طول انتظار عبر التوصية بالرفض التي رفعتها اللجنة الوزارية إلى رئيس الحكومة نجيب ميقاتي إثر إجتماعها بتاريخ 14 كانون الأول المنصرم، لتقضي على أي بذرة أمل ولدت لدى المرأة اللبنانية بالتمتع بالمساواة.

والمضحك المبكي في محضر التوصية السري، الذي حصلت المفكرة القانونية على نسخة منه، أن اللجنة الوزارية عادت إلى تفسير سابق للمجلس الدستوري يقول بإمكانية تجاوز مبدأ المساواة المكرس في الدستور اللبناني إذا كان تطبيقه يمس بالمصلحة العليا للبلاد، مع العلم أن هذا المجلس اعتمد التفسير المذكور في سياق الطعن بالقانون الذي حرم الفلسطينيين من حق التملك العقاري.

واللافت أنه باستثناء وزير الشؤون الإجتماعية وائل ابو فاعور، يحمل محضر التوصية تواقيع جميع أعضاء اللجنة وهم نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء سمير مقبل رئيساً وعضوية وزراء العدل شكيب قرطباوي والداخلية مروان شربل والخارجية عدنان منصور ووزير العمل سليم جريصاتي ووزير الإعلام وليد الداعوق. ولدى اتصال “المفكرة” بالوزير فاعور، أكد عدم علمه بالقرار والتوصية، مؤكداً أنه لم يدع إلى الإجتماع المذكور. وأشار أبو فاعور أنه سيبحث الموضوع مع رئيس الحكومة الذي سيلتقيه اليوم. مع العلم أن اللجنة أشارت في محضرها أنها وصلت إلى قرارها ب”الإجماع”، فعن أي اجماع نتحدث؟

واستندت اللجنة في توصيتها التي تكرس التمييز السلبي بحق النساء في لبنان، وتؤكد ذكورية الدولة تجاه نصف المجتمع، إلى جملة من المعطيات التي تخالف في جوهرها حقوق الإنسان وتتناقض مع مجمل الإتفاقيات الدولية التي وقعها لبنان. وفي بعض ما استندت إليه، لا تخالف اللجنة الوزارية بنود الإتفاقية الدولية للقضاء على كافة اشكال التمييز ضد المرأة(سيداو) فقط، حيث ذكرت بتحفظ مجلس النواب اللبناني على البند الثاني من المادة التاسعة من الإتفاقية، والذي يتعلق بمنح المرأة حقاً متساويا مع حق الرجل في ما يتعلق بجنسية أولادها، بل أنها ذهبت أبعد من ذلك في اتجاه السعي الى اعطاء أسس دستورية لقرارها. ف”مواءمة مقتضيات العيش المشترك والمناصفة والتساوي والفعالية في معرض التمثيل النيابي (المكرسة دستوريا) تصبح أكثر تعذرا وتعقيدا في ظل تفاقم الخلل الديموغرافي بين أبناء الشعب اللبناني من المسيحيين والمسلمين قبل التحرر المأمول من القيد الطائفي”، مما يسمح اذا بالشذوذ عن مبدأ المساواة بين الجنسين. ولتدعيم وجهة نظرها، استندت اللجنة صراحة إلى قرار سابق للمجلس الدستوري إثر الطعن بالقانون الذي حرم الفلسطينيين من التملك العقاري. وتضمنت التوصية فقرة تفيد “بما انه سبق للمجلس الدستوري ان اورد ان مبدأ المساواة الذي يتمتع بالقوة الدستورية لا يعمل به عند وجود اوضاع قانونية مختلفة لا يصح معها إعمال المساواة، أو عندما تقضي بذلك مصلحة عليا…”..وبذلك أصبح بإمكان اعضاء اللجنة والحكومة من خلفهم، لا بل سمحوا لأنفسهم، وبكل ضمير مرتاح، بتغليب المصلحة الطائفية على المصلحة الحقوقية لمواطنين يشكلون نصف المجتمع اللبناني.

واثباتا للاخلال بالتوازن الطائفي، وفي محاولة لتبرير فعلتها بطريقة تتناغم مع الحساسية الطائفية التي تعوم عليها البلاد، أشارت اللجنة إلى “أن وزارة الداخلية زودتها بأرقام عن عدد المستفيدين من منح الأم اللبنانية الحق بمنح جنسيتها لأولادها والجنسيات والطوائف التي ينتمون إليها، وهي أرقام تخل بالتوازن الديموغرافي الطوائفي إخلالاً كبيرا، فضلاً عن شمولها عددا لا يستهان به من الفلسطينيين”. وتظهر الأرقام التي حصلت عليها اللجنة من وزارة الداخلية أن الأجانب الذين سينالون الجنسية من خلال أمهاتهم اللبنانيات يصل إلى نحو 380 الف شخص والأهم توزع جنسياتهم وطوائفهم. وتوقفت اللجنة في توصيتها أمام عديد الفلسطينيين الذين سينالون الجنسية من أمهاتهم، لتحذر من الموضوع وتأثيره على التوازنات اللبنانية. إذ يبلغ عدد النساء اللبنانيات المتزوجات من فلسطينيين أربعة آلاف وخمسمائة إمرأة من أصل 76 ألف إمرأة لبنانية متزوجات من أجانب، وهي نسبة ليست كبيرة مقارنة مع التهويل الذي يلوح به معارضو منح المرأة اللبنانية جنسيتها لأسرتها. مع العلم أن اللجنة نفسها أشارت إلى حصول 15 ألف إمرأة فلسطينية على الجنسية اللبنانية نتيجة زواجهن من لبنانيين، ولكن ذلك لا يعتبر مشكلة طالما أن مانح الجنسية هنا هو رجل، بالمفهوم الذكوري للمسؤولين في لبنان وفلسفتهم الحقوقية التمييزية السلبية تجاه المرأة.

وانتهت اللجنة إلى الإعتبار، وبناء على كل ما تقدم “أنه من حق الدولة اللبنانية، وفي ضوء مصلحتها العليا، أن تقرر وضع القيود التي تحدد مداها لإكتساب غير اللبنانيين الجنسية اللبنانية، إذ تمارس في ذلك حقاً سيادياً محفوظاً لها دون سواها على الأرض اللبنانية، لا سيما إذا كان اكتساب الجنسية يتعارض مع مبدأ رفض التوطين (زواج اللبنانية من فلسطيني) أو يخل بصورة فاضحة بالتوازن الديموغرافي أو يزيده تفاقماً، على ما حصل في مرسوم التجنيس في العام 1994”. يذكر أن المرسوم المذكور شهد الكثير من المحسوبيات الطائفية والمذهبية والرشاوى التي مررها زعماء السياسة والطوائف يومها.

وخلصت اللجنة “بالإجماع” كما ورد إلى اقتراح “عدم الموافقة على مشروع القانون المذكور والإستعاضة بإجراءات من شأنها منح كل الحقوق لأولاد اللبنانية المتزوجة من أجنبي مع استثناء الحقوق السياسية. وتبعا لذلك، اقترحت منح اقامة دائمة من دون بدل عوضا عن سمة المجاملة، والحق بالتعليم والانتساب الى المدارس والمعاهد والجامعات كافة والحق في العمل في القطاعات الخاصة والحق في الطبابة والاستشفاء في القطاع الصحي العام والخاص والاستفادة من تقدمات وزارة الصحة ووزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية والصندوق الوطني الاجتماعي. الا أن ذلك لم يمنعها في حمأة تعداد الحقوق التي تقترح منحها عن استثناء حقوق أخرى تحفظها فقط للمولودين من ذكر لبناني وهي حق العمل في المهن الحرة والقطاع العام أو القطاعات التي تنص القوانين والأنظمة والقرارات المتعلقة بها على توافر شرط الجنسية اللبنانية صراحة وهي قطاعات واسعة جدا. كما تجدر الاشارة الى أن اللجنة لم تذكر الأزواج البتة وما اذا كانوا يستفيدون من الإجراءات التحسينية أم سيقتصر إقتراحها على أولاد اللبنانيات وحدهم.

وتعليقاً على توصية اللجنة، أكدت منسقة حملة “جنسيتي حق لي ولأسرتي” لينا بوحبيب شعور القيمين على الحملة “بالإمتعاض جدا والغضب من هذه النتيجة”، ورفضها “جملة وتفصيلا وبالمطلق”. وأشارت بوحبيب إلى إجتماع عقدته الحملة مع اللجنة في الثالث من كانون الأول الماضي، حيث أكد لهم أعضاؤها أنهم سيدرسون الموضوع بمناخ ايجابي. وقام ممثلو الحملة بتبليغ نتائج اجتماعاتهم مع اللجنة للسيدات المعنيات بالقضية والمناصرين لها خلال إجتماع الهيئة العامة للحملة قبل نحو عشرة ايام وتركت اجواء ايجابية وآملة بين النساء. وبذلك لم يكن نساء الحملة يدركون ما تعد اللجنة لهم. وتشير بو حبيب إلى أن الحملة اتصلت بمكتب رئيس اللجنة سمير مقبل يوم الجمعة الماضي وسألت عما وصلت إليه الأمور، فأكدوا لهم أنهم لم يجتمعوا بعد، في حين أن توصيتهم وقرارهم مؤرخ في 14 كانون الماضي، “ليفاجأونا بتوصيتهم الظالمة والمتناقضة مع حقوق الإنسان والمرأة، والتي تحمّل النساء وزر الطائفية البغيضة في لبنان بحيث تشكل النساء بنظرهم خطرا على المصلحة العليا للدولة”.

وبعدما عبرت عن استياء القيمين على الحملة مما حصل، أكدت بو حبيب نية الحملة بالتصعيد “لأن ما حصل غير مقبول ومرفوض”، مؤكدة أنه “سيتم الإعلان عن الخطوات اللاحقة بعد التشاور مع السيدات المعنيات”. وعليه، قضت اللجنة الوزارية على أمل اللبنانيات وحقهن بالتمتع بالمواطنة الكاملة والمساواة، وليس حملهم لجنسية من الدرجة الثانية لا تخولهن منح جنسيتهن لأولادهن الذين ولدوا وترعرعوا في لبنان ولا يعرفون وطنا سواه. والمؤسف في الموضوع أن هذه الحكومة نفسها أقرت مشروع قانون يخول اللبنانيين المتحدرين من أصل لبناني منذ العام 1921 إستعادة جنسيتهم اللبنانية، برغم أن غالبية هؤلاء لا يعرفون موقع لبنان على الخارطة الدولية، ولا يتحدثون لغته ولا يشعرون بأدنى الإنتماء إليه.

وحاولت اللجنة الوزارية تغطية جريمتها بالتوصية بسلة من الحقوق لأبناء المرأة اللبنانية المقيمين في لبنان، من إقامة مجانية وحق العمل (ولكن هناك استثناء لبعض المهن) وبالتطبب في المستشفيات الحكومية وبالإنتساب إلى الضمان الإجتماعي.. وغيرها من التقديمات التي كان بامكانهم الحصول عليها وعلى العديد من الحقوق الأخرى لو تم اقرار حقهم بالجنسية من دون منة من أحد. الدولة اليوم دولة ذكورية بامتياز.. بل هي دولة سادية قبل كل شيء.

L’homosexualité au Liban dans l’attente d’une décriminalisation et d’une acceptation au Liban, un pays du Moyen Orient ou les normes patriarcales et religieuses priment

Si dans ses poèmes Abou el Nouwas célèbre l’homosexualité, dans la réalité, le sujet au Liban reste un tabou, pire le sujet est criminalisé par les lois pénales, et religieuses. A la lumière des lois et pratiques en vigueur, les homosexuels au Liban comme dans les pays arabes sont stigmatisés par les communautés religieuses, les groups de pairs, leur collègues au travail, les medias et surtout leur famille. D’ailleurs le mot arabe « chazz » « déviant » très longtemps utilisé par les medias, souligne la discrimination à laquelle font face les homosexuels dans la société.

Sur le plan des lois, au Liban, le Code Pénal libanais datant de 1943, stipule dans son article 534 que “les relations sexuelles contre nature sont punies d’emprisonnement pour une durée entre un mois et un an, et d’une amende entre 200 000 et un million de livres libanaises”. Dans les textes l’homophobie au Liban est pénalisée et surtout criminalisée, dans la pratique sociale, même parmi les étudiants, l’homophobie fait rage ; Un article publié par un jeune étudiant dans le Journal des étudiants de l’Université Américaine, Outlook,  renforce la stigmatisation et l’homophobie, et la parution d’un tel article montre combien le sujet est sensible et mal-compris dans la société; Dans les familles, le sujet reste un tabou ; La société patriarcale libanaise, ne permet ni à l’homme ni à la femme de sortir du carcan des rôles sociaux attribués à chacun. De plus l’homme et la femme ne peuvent pas enfreindre les rôles prédéterminés par la société et les “bonnes mœurs” sans être considérés comme des parias. Dans la société, la discrimination via les femmes sont multiples, surtout envers les femmes célibataires. Une femme ne se complète que via un mariage et des enfants; Les personnes homosexuelles sont donc stigmatisées. Aussi, dans les familles, beaucoup parlent de l’homosexualité comme d’une maladie…

Quelques avancées sont à noter. Récemment et plus précisément depuis le début de l’année 2012, la blogosphère libanaise a vu fleurir des blogs anonymes pour la plupart d’homosexuels vivant au Liban. Le but d’un des blogs et de relater la vie de jeunes qui vivent dans un pays ou l’homosexualité est plus qu’un tabou, elle est un crime.  L’exemple tout en couleur est celui de « Alloush » et « Zouzou » un blog qui  se veut un blog de deux meilleurs amis  homosexuels qui racontent leur “simple” vie de tous les jours au “Liban”. Le blog se nomme Homos libnani, un jeu de mot, entre le célèbre pois chiche libanais et l’acronyme d’homosexuel ;

MEEM la communauté qui questionne la sexualité au Liban

Aussi, le célèbre ouvrage « Bareed Mista3jil », « Courrier urgent » préparé pendant 3 ans par MEEM, une organisation qui apporte son soutien aux lesbiennes et transsexuelles du Liban, relate des histoires vraies de femmes homosexuelles au Liban. Sous forme de lettres cachetées et anonymes, 41 lesbiennes, bisexuelles ou transsexuelles, âgées d’une trentaine d’années témoignent dans ce livre de leur calvaire né de l’incompréhension de la société qui ne reconnait pas leurs droits et du refus de leur famille d’accepter et même de tolérer leur orientation sexuelle. Des récits poignants qui racontent les difficultés de réconcilier la religion, la sexualité, le « standing » et la respectabilité des familles, la colère et la violence des parents ou des frères ; Effarant, un témoignage relate aussi un cas de viol.

Le célèbre ouvrage « Bareed Mista3jil », « Courrier urgent » préparé pendant 3 ans par MEEM, une organisation qui apporte son soutien aux lesbiennes et transsexuelles du Liban.

Si les lois qui touchent à l’orientation sexuelle sont iniques et obsolètes au Liban, une polémique a pris forme récemment suite à l’arrestation de 36 hommes dans un cinéma d’un quartier populaire à Beyrouth lors de la projection d’un film pornographique.  Les hommes ont été obligés de subir des « tests anaux », les « tests de la honte » tels que les activistes les ont nommés. Les autorités prétextent que de tels tests aident à établir l’orientation sexuelle des personnes arrêtées et soupçonnées d’homosexualité. Pire que les lois, les pratiques pour « dépister » l’homosexualité touchent à la dignité humaine.

D’ailleurs une  manifestation de soutien a eu lieu le samedi 11 août 2012 devant le palais de la Justice. Une centaine de jeunes activistes, se sont virulemment opposés aux tests de virginités encore appliqués dans certains cas sur des femmes, et contre les tests annaux. Les manifestants ont ironisé en parlant de « viol médico-légal ». Les manifestants femmes, hommes et enfants ont brandi des pancartes et ont hurlé des slogans demandant à l’Etat de respecter la liberté sexuelle, les corps des citoyens et citoyennes et d’arrêter les humiliants examens, physiques et psychologiques. Ils ont fait la « sourde oreille » aux remarques déplaisantes de certains passants. Rétorquant simplement… les tests sont des viols, des viols légaux honteux et révoltants.

Une manifestation de soutien a eu lieu le samedi 11 août 2012 devant le palais de la Justice. Une centaine de jeunes activistes, se sont virulemment opposés aux tests de virginités encore appliqués dans certains cas sur des femmes, et contre les tests annaux.

HELEM l’association première en son genre dans le monde arabe et qui défend les droits des lesbiennes, gays, bisexuels et transgenres a haussé le ton lors de la manifestation via des pancartes et T-shirts qui ont crûment représenté les tests qui sont infligés aux personnes arrêtées. Des tests qui n’ont aucune valeur scientifique et que l’Ordre des médecins a déclaré illégaux. Des tests qui ne respectent point la dignité humaine, ni l’intégrité physique et morale des détenus hommes ou femmes. En un mot, comme le résume la pancarte de la manifestation, des tests honteux.

Une lueur d’espoir nait du scandale des tests : toute forme de bigoterie et racisme est dénoncée, notamment sur la page du « Lebanese LGBT Media Monitor », les médias et notamment les émissions télévisées sont passées au crible fin, et toute émission et ou présentateur qui prônent l’homophobie sont virulemment pointé du doigt. Des lettres électroniques sont adressées aux responsables. Le message clair du Syndicat des médecins est salué sur les pages des medias sociaux et dans les divers blogs ; La Troisième Voix pour le Liban » (3V) le Think tank en ligne qui rassemble divers experts, a préparé et publié un texte  montrant l’anticonstitutionnalité des dispositions de l’article 534 du Code Pénal.

Les réactions de la communauté homosexuelle au Liban, des activistes de la société civile, et de certains des grands medias qui ont passé en boucle dans leur introduction au Journal du soir le mot honte, et ont souligné l’aspect révoltant des tests montrent une avancée minime soit-elle vers la dépénalisation de l’homosexualité au moins dans l’esprit d’une partie de la conscience sociétale. Dans l’espoir de voir le code Pénal amendé, il est important que tous et toutes se mobilisent pour la liberté sexuelle et le respect des communautés marginalisées dans un pays ou le qu’en dira-t-on et les tabous priment.

After clashes, Lebanon’s majority steps up by Rita Chemaly

Beirut – In recent days, the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli has been the site of highly publicised clashes between diverse political and sectarian groups. However while this small minority battles, the majority of Lebanese citizens are standing up against violence – both online and on the ground.
Soon after the clashes began, Lebanese civil society activists condemned the spread of violence through Facebook, Twitter and blogs. Their calls for national unity and to disarm the city circulated online in record time. Building on this public support, activists created new social media pages – many of which gathered over a thousand members.
These ordinary Lebanese citizens are standing up to show that they reject violence, that they are organising to stop it and that, ultimately, they refuse to be silent.
The Facebook group “Tripoli without weapons!” posted an appeal to local and national authorities that read, “. . . We are citizens who condemn the proliferation of weapons in the neighbourhoods and streets of our city Tripoli. We implore the state and all political, executive, security and military authorities to take whatever steps necessary to rid Tripoli of the weapons circulating through it. Yes to a weapon-free Tripoli! “.
Following this appeal, many key individuals declared a city-wide strike to protest the violence that had claimed several lives, and held a demonstration in front of Tripoli’s public administration offices to raise awareness of their cause.
Demonstrators waved Lebanese flags, sang the national anthem and demanded an immediate response to the city’s problems of rampant poverty and a lack of security, which are seen as interrelated. They called on the state to provide better security and reiterated the need for street militias to disarm. The non-violent protest brought together the President of the Municipal Council, members of parliament from the region, as well as leaders from all faith groups and other members of civil society. Their message was clear: Lebanon needs to return to the rule of law and provide security for all, throughout the country.
With the sectarian strife dividing Tripoli, and fearing that the country as a whole is heading once more towards violence, other civil society activists responded quickly through multiple initiatives, this time in Beirut. Online, youth showed their patriotism with pictures they created in response to the situation, with captions that read: “Neither Sunni nor Shiite, nor Christian, nor Druze, but Lebanese.”
“Our union is our salvation” was another slogan activists displayed on the steps of the National Museum in Beirut, where white chairs with the names of victims of the recent violence, unnamed chairs with Lebanese flags, and a large sign reading “That’s enough!” all begged for a return to peace.
In addition, scholars formed online groups to say no to war in Lebanon. The Third Voice for Lebanon is one example of a non-partisan, non-denominational and apolitical grassroots online group which publishes and circulates texts that protest violence and cronyism, as well as the recruitment and the indoctrination of children into militias and extremist groups. It uses peaceful demonstrations in Lebanon and overseas to say no to violence and yes to peace.
Lebanese civil society is calling upon the state to take firm action against violence and the circulation of weapons in poor areas by establishing security and supporting sustainable development that can help end the poverty that drives violence. The hurdles Lebanon faces now are very real. But these collective actions by Lebanon’s diverse, multifaceted civil society demonstrate hope.

1975…2012 war motives society crisis political leadership closed circle in Lebanon

yesterday coming back from a beautiful sunny day on the beach, I watch the TV at night, to see that “schools and university should close”, 5 minutes later, after this information went viral on all TV stations and radios, the minister sent a denial, the schools and universities are not closed”;

It took me 3 seconds to remember that in Lebanon, closing schools is “not good at all”, that means something “Serious” happened;

watching Men El Ekhir , and zapping to New TV,  the news finally broke, clashes in Tripoli, Naameh, Burning tyres, Death of a Cheikh in Akkar, … the news smelt rotten, disgusting and more disgusting (and as the users of Twitter say #TFEH ) when the clashes began in Tariq el Jdideh in Beirut “rifles, rockets” “sawarikh” near the Arab University of Beirut … again TFEH…. Disgusting news for my “beloved” country.

Are those Sectarian clashes based on Political affiliations, to some “rotten” leaders? Or clashes based on the tensions and the crisis in Syria? no one knows…. as Imad says, some are swearing that some “Movements” do not have anything to do with the clashes that happened yesterday… others repeat from “informed sources” that those were Future affiliated pple on the streets…

the hole picture for me is disgusting, when someone dies, because the army has shot dead a cheikh, it is not the stability of the country that must be shaken, but the judiciary power, they must work as hard as they can to discover the “truth nothing but the truth”. Investigations must be kept far from politics, and if there is a fault, the judges should punish the perpetrators.

the bright part after the clashes is the web users activism online, some being cynical, others using black humor, others actively campaigning for the civil peace… here is a snapshot of the pictures going viral on the web scene…

Sit In by the civil society for the nationality right of women

Today, Tuesday, April the 3rd 2012, the Jinsiyati Campaign in Lebanon, lobbying for women to be able to transmit their Lebanese nationality for their children and families,  is organising a Sit in in front of the Grand Serail( Saraya), Riad el Solh Square at 10:30 ( while the Council of Ministers is meeting) to ask the governmental Committee in charge of working on the nationality law to:

– Indicate a clear timeline within which the committee will be working and assume agreeing on the draft law;

– Share the Terms of Reference of the Committee (  what are their sources, what are their info);

– Include civil society organisations in the process of the discussions ( the importance of consulting civil society organisations campaigning and working on this right since more than 10 years is a must, they know the cases, the numbers, the obstacles and hindrances as well as the citizen’s expectations);

– and last but not least, take into consideration our demands for FULL CITIZENSHIP RIGHTS for women without any conditions ( women should transmit their nationality to their families, the Lebanese Constitution has clearly stipulated that all citizens are equal) ;

The banners of the peaceful collective action of today are clear:

Transmitting the nationality is a Right , this is not the Settlement of Palestinians,

Nationality is a right for women in the state of Rights and laws

the nationality law of 1925 is old and need to be amended ASAP!!!

Halla’ la wayn a la Nadine Labaki, on va vers ou/ quoi? une situation communautaire, pire sectaire qui enclenche des Assabiyas ( au sens Khaldounien) infertiles dans un Liban ou la pluralite et la diversite et le respect des autres est un must.

comme solution a cela,  je ne pense qu’a une chambre coupee en deux ou 18 parties  (Un tabouleh si vous preferez), a cte des universites, pour que chacun puisse prier ou pas le Dieu qu’il/elle veut ou invoque ou frustre!

Lebanon’s Civil Marriage: A Cypriot Love Story… Happy valentine while waiting for a Secular unified law for all

“Love… joy… sorrow… wealth… poverty…until death separates us.” With her weak English, Maysa mumbled these words in front of her now husband, Nizar, at Larnaca’s civil marriage town hall.

Maysa and Nizar are Lebanese citizens. Their different sects forced them to travel outside the country in pursuit of civil marriage. According to Nizar, he did not get married in a civil court just because of sectarian issues, but rather “to reach equality of rights between you and your partner.”

Civil marriage in Lebanon is prohibited but, oddly, it is recognized if carried out elsewhere. Most Lebanese couples who believe in civil marriage rights travel to Cyprus or Turkey to exchange vows. These two countries offer the cheapest solutions due to the ease of travel and the simplest paperwork.

Chers députés dites la vérité,

Êtes-vous entrain de couvrir les criminels ?

A la prison les violeurs, a la prison !

Le 14 janvier 2012 je suis née à nouveau,

Nous sommes la pour dire que le silence n’est pas permis, quand la femme est violée, violentée, le silence ne doit pas l’enfermer, les lois doivent la protéger ;

Les femmes libanaises paraissent avoir des droits,

Mais les droits esthétiques que les femmes ont, ne sont pas de vrais droits, qui les protègent.

Les dispositions  503-504 du code pénal libanais permettent a l’homme de violer sa femme, quand il veut,

La matière 522 permet au violeur de se marier avec sa victime, et lui donner des indemnités, bref, payer la victime !

Un état de droit est nécessaire, de toutes nos voix, nous voulons une loi civile qui protège les femmes dans leur foyer comme en dehors.

Députés dites la vérité, violentez vous vos femmes ?

Députés êtes-vous entrain de couvrir les criminels ?

N’êtes vous pas responsables de la législation ?

Des horreurs que nous croyons loin de nous, qui ne peuvent pas toucher notre cercle familial, si ce n’est amical, or tout peut arriver si les libanais et libanaises n’ont pas une Loi et des mécanismes pour l’exécuter , qui les protègent d’un malheur insidieux…. LA VIOLENCE !

Non a la violence au sein des foyers! Non a la violence a l’encontre des Enfants! Non a la violence a l’encontre des femmes!

Dans un pays ou le statut personnel et les droits personnels appartiennent a des communautés religieuses , nos célèbres 18 confessions, les droits humains peuvent difficilement être respectés et homogénéisés!

La violence sous toutes ses formes ( psychologique, physique, verbale) Doit être interdite et PUNIE!

Dans nos familles si les femmes, les filles, et les enfants sont violentés, violées, le sentiment premier est le doute, la peur, et la peur du scandale;

Ce qui devrait prévaloir c’est la PUNITION de TOUT crime notamment au sein des familles, et notamment pour la violence sexuelle et le harcèlement,

nous Avons besoin d’un code pénal uniformisé et homogeneisé qui offre à toutes les femmes et filles de toutes les communautés un droit égal et une PROTECTION EGALE!!

Notre Code pénal au Liban accorde encore des circonstances atténuantes! ( Sachant qu’en aout 2011 ( voir le billet précèdent) l’article 562 du code pénal qui octroyait des circonstances atténuantes pour l’auteur des crimes “d’honneurs” a été annulé);

Chers et chères DEPUTES, Deputées, Chers /es Compatriotes, il est temps d’amender le code pénal et de voter sans lui enlever sa portée la loi contre la VIOLENCE FAMILIALE!

enfin a tous et toutes ceux et celles qui croient et revent à un ETAT DE DROIT au Liban, rejoignez nous ( les nasawiyas)  le 14 pour une manifestation contre la violence sexuelle!

Concert de la Chorale Rencontre au Liban

le 18 decembre 2011 j’ai assiste au concert de la Chorale Rencontre. En un mot j’ai adore le concert!! Adore!!!

j’ai assiste au concert a l’eglise St vincent Naccache, et je me suis sentie bercee par des voix angeliques!

Bravo aux enfants (notamment ma ptite cherie Kyky), au choristes, a samo (Alias Samantha Sayegh) , et a celui qui les guidait!!!

j’ai decide leur leur  ecrire un ptit billet special, mais j’ai peur que les mots ne puissent exprimer ce que j’ai ressenti!

a mes cotes, hommes et femmes avaient les larmes au yeux: le concert entierement “a capella ” m’a rappele le film “les choristes” que j’avais vu en 2004 quand j’etais en France;

pour ceux qui seraient la en 2012, n’hesitez pas a reserver une soiree pour avoir des frissons, ressentir la passion et ecouter les plus belles chansons au rythme des voix de Barytons ” Pam pam pam” “pam pam pam“….

j’ai pique a la Chorale leur texte introductif que je retransmet pour permettre a ceux qui sont de passage sur ma page de les connaitre mieux:

“Lorsque le 23 décembre 1992, nous nous sommes retrouvés douze amis en pulls rouges et verts chantant Noël dans une église de notre village natal, nous établissions sans le savoir les bases de ce qui allait devenir une tradition. Ainsi, chaque année, nos parents, nos amis, les amis de nos amis, et petit à petit un nombre plus important d’adeptes as…sidus venaient pour nous écouter chanter et partager avec nous la joie de Noël. Dans ce contexte naissait notre chorale, la chorale Rencontre. Quinze ans après, notre plus grand souhait est toujours de vous transmettre la joie de Noël. C’est surtout avec la même ferveur que nous espérons ce soir chanter: Il est né le divin enfant.“

Master en sciences politiques avec de nouvelles options au Liban

L’Institut des Sciences Politiques de l’universite Saint -Joseph a ouvert le Master en Sciences Politiques avec de nouvelles options:

Une option Communication et Marketing Politique (preparant des specialistes  et experts en communication politique et campagnes electorales).

Salons de Beaute pour ENFANTS! au Liban tout est travaille pour Arranger l’image de soi

Apres les publicites pornographiques, les publicites sexistes, voila, une autre mode qui commence chez nous,

un traitement special enfant…. il faut etre belle, creative, coloree, et beau, jagual, trendy…. j’oublie quelque chose?? Avec du Gel gelatineux sur la tete, et les cheveux en herisson… bon “yestoflo” comme dirait mes amis (es)….

Dans quel monde mes enfants vivront? Donneront-ils autant d’importance a l’image? et quelle image???

je vous copie le premier paragraphe qui explique qui ils sont (” ils” les filles :-)) encore un pronom utilise en langue francaise, au  lieu de elles…. discrimination insidieuse?? 🙂 un sujet qui pourrait interesser certains et certaines, et qui necessairement est a approfondir…  )

On the highway from Beirut to Jbeil, you can’t help but notice the huge “El Rancho” ads spread all over the highway, marketing for the amusement activities provided by the company themed with the “wild west” scene. A blond woman with big boobs, half covered body, appears with an alert position, dangling ropes in her hands, once facing the bull and another facing the camera, was displayed in these ads. Appearing next to her is the phrase “Are you ready?” And we cannot help but ask: can we sum up the “Wild West” culture with a naked sexy woman’s body?And does this photo reflect the activities planned in “El Rancho’s- wild west- rodeo” festival?

Does this mean if I don’t fit the ads’ preferences as a woman, that I can’t be a part in this competition?

Until when will the ads continue to use women’s bodies as a tool for seduction and suggestion of sexual acts, where society refuses to admit the existence of a women’s sex drive? Couldn’t a deeper and more comprehensive statement of the festival’s contents and nature, other than an image of a model woman with savage features, wresting with a bull? Do you think the ad designer realizes that the women in the “Wild West” do not wear such revealing wear? These are only a few questions raised up by the “El Rancho’ ad campaign, and therefore, that’s why this campaign is worthy of being this week’s number 1 for exploiting women’s bodies.   Excuse me, may I look different than her? Etes vous celibataires?

Je suis célibataire et j’aimerais dire à mes amis en couple…. Un article que j’ai lu dans cosmo et que je vous retransmet….

Le célibat, je gère comme je peux. Mais visiblement, chacun a son mot à dire. Euh, moi aussi?! Et d’ailleurs, vous aussi, donnez votre avis…

Mes amies essayent de me caser à tout prix

• «Tu n’es pas obligée d’essayer de me caser!»

Mon amie Sophie, en couple depuis dix ans, ne supporte plus de me voir célibataire. Elle veut me maquer. Jusqu’au jour où je lui dis gentiment que je n’en peux plus de ses rendez-vous arrangés. Ces dîners assise à côté du soi-disant prince charmant… ça devient gênant. Elle ne comprend pas, se vexe et m’accuse d’être de mauvaise volonté. Mais je veux juste venir dîner ! Sandrine, 28 ans

• «Tu n’es pas obligé de faire un diagnostic…»

Ça part d’une série de compliments, et puis ça dérape. Exemple avec Ben, fatigant et collant, rencontré à une soirée : «Une fille jeune, belle, intelligente et drôle comme toi, célibataire ? C’est un choix non ? Quelque part tu ne dois pas vouloir d’un mec toi, ou t’en as pas besoin, ou t’es trop exigeante. Ou alors t’as un autre problème mais je ne pense pas. T’es une coquine toi.» Je refuse de me laisser miner par un boulet.  Sabrina, 29 ans  

 

• «Ça, ça ne m’encourage pas vraiment!»

Ma tante Sonia, 60 ans, deux maris, trois enfants, a forcément une expérience de vie de plus que moi. J’adore lui parler, plus rien ne l’étonne. J’aime sa vision des relations humaines parce qu’elle a du recul. Mais j’ai parfois du mal à lui faire comprendre que je n’ai pas encore tout ça. Elle me sert alors son traditionnel «Oh tu as tant de chance ma chérie, profite de ta jeunesse ! Tu as toute la vie devant toi pour t’installer avec un homme pour le restant de tes jours… et encore, si ça marche. Amuse-toi tant qu’il en est encore temps, ça viendra quand tu t’y attendras le moins». Je voudrais juste qu’elle comprenne que je me sens moyen bien maintenant. Fanny, 26 ans

• «On peut aussi parler d’autre chose…»

Ces dernières années ont été sous le signe de «pas de boulot, pas de mec?». Depuis que j’ai un travail, c’est mieux. Déjeuner avec mes copines, on parle de mes journées bien remplies, elles se réjouissent pour moi, je reprends du poil de la bête. Mais à la fin du repas, Delphine lance : «Ah maintenant que tu as un boulot, c’est bien, ça t’occupe. Et puis on ne peut pas tout avoir d’un coup.» Je me suis trompée, ça revient toujours. Marianna, 29 ans

• «Hé, j’ai droit à une chambre moi aussi!»

Je sais que je vais être la seule célibataire de la semaine. Mais je ne vais pas m’empêcher de partir à la mer à cause de ça. Je me mets dans de bonnes dispositions, je suis positive, je vais profiter, et rigoler. Ce sont mes amis de toujours. Tout va bien, on débarque, on se jette dans l’eau, on fait les courses, et arrive le moment du choix des chambres. Priorité aux couples, c’est normal. Mais il y a suffisamment de place pour que j’aie une chambre aussi. Jusqu’à l’arrivée
impromptue de Sonia et Valentin. «On te fait un super lit dans le salon, ça te va?» Amandine, 27 ans

• «Euh je suis une amie, aussi…»

C’est le mariage d’une de mes meilleures amies. Elle est surexcitée : «Tu vas adorer, on t’a placée à LA table de célibataires ! Je les connais pas tous mais c’est des gens bien.» Aurélie, 28 ans

 

•  «Cet argument est juste très bas…»

Vendredi soir, je rentre du boulot, j’ai juste envie de dormir. Juliette m’appelle pour me proposer un rendez-vous à minuit devant une boîte. La blague. Non merci. Ce refus me vaut une tirade magnifique : «Comment ça tu ne veux pas sortir ce soir ? Attends, c’est sûr que si tu ne t’en donnes pas les moyens, tu ne trouveras jamais quelqu’un. Et c’est pas en restant chez toi à regarder des séries en pyjama les cheveux gras que ça va changer.» Justine, 28 ans

• « Je peux coucher avec qui je veux ? ! ? »

Je suis célibataire, pas nonne. Donc je sors, je fais des rencontres, il m’arrive d’avoir des aventures d’un soir. Manon, en couple depuis plusieurs années, croit que cette vie me va. Elle ne comprend pas que je fais juste au mieux avec mon célibat. Quand quelqu’un propose de me faire rencontrer un ami, elle est capable de dire « ben j’espère qu’il assure le soir même, lui ! ». Une fois, deux fois, je rigole, mais à force, c’est une blessure d’amitié qui se creuse. Sa vision des choses, c’est tellement pas moi, ça m’attriste. Hmm, envieuse la Manon peut-être ? Je veux bien qu’on me le dise si on le pense.Mélanie, 26 ans 
 

• « Euh, ma rupture, je m’en suis remise… »

« Ma pauvre, ça doit être dur là quand même, depuis le temps », le tout doublé du regard compatissant, tête inclinée. Comment veut-on que j’arrive à penser à autre chose si on n’arrête pas de m’en parler ? En fait, ça va ! Julia, 28 ans 

 

• « Si, si, sans homme on peut exister ! »

J’arpente un magasin de bricolage, contrainte d’effectuer un achat passionnant : un abattant pour les toilettes. Au moment de payer, je demande au caissier s’il y a des choses à savoir pour le montage. Il me répond, limite étonné : « Ben, c’est votre mari qui va le faire. » Ah, et si je n’ai pas de mari ? « Ben vous demandez à votre voisin, ou votre père, ou votre frère. Enfin, il y a bien un homme pour vous aider dans la vie ! » Ou comment rendre une session bricolage profondément déstabilisante. Olivia, 26 ans

 

• « Le couple, c’est pas non plus obligatoire… »

Grande soirée surprise pour l’anniversaire d’une copine d’enfance. Je ne connais quasiment personne, c’est un milieu beaucoup plus bourgeois que le mien, mais c’est sympa de rencontrer ses amis. Jusqu’à ce qu’une fille, littéralement « empieuvrée » à son homme, me lance, le plus naturellement du monde : « Et toi alors, il arrive quand, ton mec ? » Bon ben je vais y aller hein. Victoria, 30 ans
 

• « Une leçon de morale maintenant ? ! ? »

« Il serait peut-être temps d’avoir un homme non ? À ton âge, il faudrait arrêter de chercher le grand amour. » Merci ma sœur aînée chérie adorée. « L’amour, la passion, tout ça c’est pour les adolescents. Ce serait peut-être le moment de penser à faire des bébés. Je dis ça pour toi tu sais. On n’a pas toute la vie, nous les femmes. » Samia, 32 ans
 
 

• « Doucement, la psy sauvage ! »

Pendant tout un dîner, une fille que je viens de rencontrer me bassine « Mais tu es seule ? Tu veux dire, vraiment ? Mais depuis combien de temps ? Mais comment ça se fait ? Tu ne rencontres personne ? Ou tu as peur de l’engagement ? Mais rassure-moi tu as déjà eu des histoires ? Et là tu rentres seule ? Ça va aller ? Rho là là, ça ne doit pas être rigolo rigolo. » Le tout en me caressant la main. Nathalie, 25 ans

Le problème des sorties de couple quand on est célibataire

• «Et nos dîners de filles alors ?»

Seule célibataire de mon groupe d’amis, je ne compte pas arrêter de les voir juste parce que j’en ai marre d’être le chiffre impair à table. Coincée dans des brunchs de couples, où les additions se calculent à deux, j’ai toujours droit à mon moment, « Et toi alors, t’en es où de tes amours ? ». Avec la légère impression de devoir divertir la galerie, « Ben oui, toi qui n’es pas encore casée, tu dois bien avoir des histoires croustillantes à nous raconter ! ». J’ai fini par éviter. Pareil pour « Viens dîner à la maison », où il est implicite que Bichon sera là. Trop gênant de devoir préciser que non, ce n’est pas comme entre filles. Cathy, 25 ans

• «Je ne suis pas une voleuse de chéris !»

Un couple d’amis me propose une soirée. Un trait d’eye-liner, une paire de bottes, et je suis prête. Ouverte et souriante, je rencontre des gens très intéressants. Je ne connais personne mais à chaque fois que je parle avec un garçon, une fille – sa copine, donc – arrive dans les cinq minutes pour l’embrasser fougueusement. Moi, perçue comme une prédatrice ? Aïe. Je finis par comprendre qu’il n’y a que des couples à cette soirée.
Je me sens mal et ridicule d’être sexy dans ce contexte. Johanna, 31 ans

• «Si, on peut me parler de ses problèmes de couple.»

Céline, une de mes meilleures amies, vit une très belle histoire d’amour. Avec Baptiste, ils passent toutes les étapes en douceur, mais celle de l’emménagement bloque un peu. Donc elle se pose des questions. Elle a l’impression qu’il rechigne. Ce sont de vrais moments importants du couple. Je m’en souviens, j’ai eu ça. J’écoute, je comprends, je tente de la rassurer. Au bout de deux heures de discussion, quasiment les larmes aux yeux, elle me dit : « Oh et puis je m’en veux de te raconter ça à toi. C’est vraiment pas sympa de m’épancher ainsi alors que toi, tu ne vis rien depuis… combien de temps maintenant ? » Alexandra, 29 ans
