Even after death, the Lebanese laws do not consider people equal…
Focus on Inheritance….
Our legislative field violates our Constitution, the Lebanese Constitution.
According the the Lebanese Constitution, especially article 7 citizens are equal before the law.
But the reality is less shining, with 18 confessions in Lebanon and their own personal status law.
In fact, I am equal to the female citizen that is from my confession.
I am not equal with the men citizen that is also from my confession.
I am not equal with another Lebanese girl according to the inheritance legislation.
For Muslims for example, the inheritance law discriminates between men and women in terms of the share given to men. The men are given twice the share of the women.
More over, it is difficult for us not to say impossible to inherit from a parent that is from another confession!!
To know more about those laws, do not hesitate to read our different Personal status laws!!
Dear State, Dear citizens of my country, can we do something and create and build a Unified code?
We will be able to name ourselves citizens of the same country!
